La Guerra Personal

I have recently become engulfed in the political phenomenon infesting America. It's hard to miss the assiduous banter plastered throughout the media. I understand the necessity for all the attention, but honestly: Obama and Clinton's debate tonight showed two people saying almost the same exact thing, and McCain and Romney are twins who pick out the differences in their freckles.

I mean, I'm more than pleased that everyone has shed their animus and we can all get along peaceably, but where is the competition? You can not confuse a nation by smudging the lines between your campaigns. And why is there so much focus on changing America? I apologize if I was the only person in the United States who managed to skip out on the concordat to not talk about foreign policy, but recently all I've heard is healthcare, poverty, black people, and economy. I have a huge dysphoria going into this next year. Have we simply accepted the fact that we're going to vote in a president who'll pull out our troops immediately? Is that honestly what everyone wants?

I find no intellectual side to that. I find no reason why an educated voter would want America to simply pull out. America's hamartithia is impeccable, and since I fail to see everyone's link that makes this war equal to Vietnam, I believe that pulling out immediately would just be another addition to our list of mistakes. The media's acrimony towards the war has only exploited the bad news. This war is actually the war with the least American casualties that America has ever been involved in. Pulling out immediately could land Iraq in the middle of a civil war they aren't prepared for, shove the United States into an oil crisis we don't need, and possibly have us attacked even worse than before. We need peace, not immediate satisfaction for the American public who has been sucked into the three ringed circus of the liberal media.

We've let the war in Iraq make a social war in our nation. I strongly urge you to evaluate your voting decision for 2008 and ask yourself which candidate helps our national security. Changing America is a great ideal and goal that can help our nation, but we won't have a nation to change if we give any enemy a chance to ruin us.
