La Guerra Personal

I have recently become engulfed in the political phenomenon infesting America. It's hard to miss the assiduous banter plastered throughout the media. I understand the necessity for all the attention, but honestly: Obama and Clinton's debate tonight showed two people saying almost the same exact thing, and McCain and Romney are twins who pick out the differences in their freckles.

I mean, I'm more than pleased that everyone has shed their animus and we can all get along peaceably, but where is the competition? You can not confuse a nation by smudging the lines between your campaigns. And why is there so much focus on changing America? I apologize if I was the only person in the United States who managed to skip out on the concordat to not talk about foreign policy, but recently all I've heard is healthcare, poverty, black people, and economy. I have a huge dysphoria going into this next year. Have we simply accepted the fact that we're going to vote in a president who'll pull out our troops immediately? Is that honestly what everyone wants?

I find no intellectual side to that. I find no reason why an educated voter would want America to simply pull out. America's hamartithia is impeccable, and since I fail to see everyone's link that makes this war equal to Vietnam, I believe that pulling out immediately would just be another addition to our list of mistakes. The media's acrimony towards the war has only exploited the bad news. This war is actually the war with the least American casualties that America has ever been involved in. Pulling out immediately could land Iraq in the middle of a civil war they aren't prepared for, shove the United States into an oil crisis we don't need, and possibly have us attacked even worse than before. We need peace, not immediate satisfaction for the American public who has been sucked into the three ringed circus of the liberal media.

We've let the war in Iraq make a social war in our nation. I strongly urge you to evaluate your voting decision for 2008 and ask yourself which candidate helps our national security. Changing America is a great ideal and goal that can help our nation, but we won't have a nation to change if we give any enemy a chance to ruin us.

¿Muy Ocupada?

"Give a hand."

One of the more overused modern metonomies. I never truly appreciated it until today.

I am piled under 7 inches of snow and ice. The results of a three day snow storm that had a one day patch of ice rain/sleet/God knows whatever torment mother nature decided would be a fun mix-in. My car is frozen to my driveway, and I can't go anywhere.

I had to be at work yesterday at 4:30. I went outside at 2:15 to start shoveling. It usually takes me 15 minutes and then I help my neighbors shovel, however yesterday I was shoveling up until 4:15 when I realized I wouldnt' be leaving my driveway. It's not such a bad thing, my workplace was closed anyway. But back to the point, my neighbors and I used to have a system. That is, before they all upgraded to expensive snowblowers and icemelt. Now the old fashioned days of friendship and cocoa have turned into metal luxury and no communication.

An upgrade?

Well I shoveled, and shoveled, and shoveled some more to find no end to my peril. If only I had been smart enough to invest what little money I don't have into a snowblower. Alas, I was left to struggle as my neighbors left their driveways with ease in their SUV's, sliding past me and giving a look that most likely meant "I'm so sorry that my super blower 3000 works perfectly and your shovel is breaking. I'm on my way to the movies, bye!"

Snobs. Is this what technology and "luxury" is turning our society into? Is this our future that's so bright we have to put our shades on?

If it is, I much prefer the dark ages.

¿Tiburones?

So what happens when you come to a stand still in life? That ultimate crossroad that you can't make a decision at where each choice looks good? Do you pick one and hope you're right in choosing so? Or do you sit down and inevitably wait for a truck to give you a ride in whichever direction he's headed?

How do you decide? I often find that each option seems more appealing when I look at it and then I realize I can only choose one and I'm not sure how to make the decision. When I look past on previous crossroads I can plainly see an obvious choice and why I chose it, but I can't remember what compelled me to choose.

And then it comes to the point that everyone in my life gets involved in the decision and it's like I am being fed to the sharks. Everyone has their opinion and if I don't choose right their teeth are headed straight for my leg. So, lesson to be learned: don't get people involed with crossroads.

But that lesson doesn't help with the original question posed. Can prayer really answer everything? I mean, there is never a direct answer. I've never gotten a voice in my head that says "yes, go"... it's always indirect inuendos and comments made by collegues that push me toward my final decision.

Alas, my crossroads for my future is still there, I still have no conclusion, and my questions are still unanswered.

The final lesson to be learned? Don't overthink... it just wastes your time when you don't come up with an answer.

Los Padres del Diablo

I've decided that it is a miraculous thing that my parents do not know of this site. I have a freedom I've never quite experienced. Now onto the bigger and better discussion.

My parents are trying to tell me that my vegetarianism is the reason I have parvovirus. Are you kidding me? That's like telling me I got HIV from a strawberry. It's utterly ridiculous. They're just pigheaded and megalomanious and want me to eat meat like everyone else. Why? Because it's more convenient for them.

I don't understand the point of parental control past a certain age. I am almost an adult and I fully realize I am not up to par with the rest of the world yet, but at the same time I am well more mature than most of the world. How do parents undermine themselves by not trusting me? Did they not raise me to be who I am?

Los Hombres Me Vuelvan LOCA!

I just don't get boys. I really don't. I say something nice and they flip out like I've ruined their world. All I ever said was that he and I weren't ever gonna get in an argument. Is that possible to be taken wrong? Or maybe he just doesn't understand Woman Lingo.

Goodness gracious. Maybe that's what the world really needs, a translator. From man to woman. I don't get how in the world two human beings almost completely identical except for their sex and minor details can have such a barrier. Is it possible for us to have such a problem understanding each other? I mean honestly, in our DNA we are 99.9% similar. It's utterly ridiculous.

And if he has such a problem with me why does he have to go vent it out on his "my space" instead of talking to me about it? I can easily explain anything I say. Or is it a manly thing just not to ask? Why can't we all just get along.

Maybe I need to cool down myself. Heck, it was two nights ago... why am I still steemed? Maybe I just have too much emotion... or maybe I'm too attached.

Oh well, if any of you ever get around to making the woman to man translator... let me know. I would love to use it.

Or maybe I should make it so that we don't have any more world wars because women drive men crazy.

Or the other way around.

Si Tu Tocas El Mundo

Si tu tocas el mundo...

Recently I have discovered what the world needs now is not love sweet love. The world needs a babysitter. A kind hand, a gentle heart, but most of all... true happiness. Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of us women aren't comfortable walking alone at night in strange areas of cities or dark alleys. That shouldn't be. I shouldn't have to be afraid to walk alone in the dark. A man shouldn't have to lock his car and put an alarm on it just so it's not stolen. We need to have confidence in each other. If I trust you, and you trust me, then we have no need to fear each other, correct?
Maybe I have too much confidence in my fellow man. Maybe I think too highly of my people. I am not sure which is more laudable; to trust my neighbors, or to protect myself. Mabye the whole world needs better perception on each other. I can not fathom how the world has progressed into a moving clamor of beau mondes who do nothing but quibble at eachother's faults and altercations.
Someone with a higher intellect and appreciation for beings would understand what I am pointing at. Humans can be trusted. We have the ability to be loved and the ability to love. It is those of us who choose to take advantage and pillage that trust who completely extirpate the possibility for me to walk alone at night.
It is sad to know I cannot trust my neighbour. But what is more disconsolate is that my neighbour cannot trust me. It is on the soul reason that other characters have broken the trust and admiration of my neighbours that I myself cannot be a confidant.
What the world needs now is not love sweet love. Love has demolished the trust in this country. The word love has been too widely used and too poorly treated. Love? Love is a score in tennis. Love, in tennis, is zero, nothing, oblivion... in tennis, love means you lose. In the ever changing world today, love is loss. The world does not need love, it had it's chance at love. All the world needs now is trust.

Go out and trust someone.
